The musical play celebrates the journey of the Mormon pioneers led by Brigham Young rom Nauvoo, Illinois to the valley of the Great Salt Lake in 1847. Promised Valley focuses on the story of a young pioneer family, Jed and Celia – a fictional prototype of the thousands who made the 1,500 mile trek for freedom from religious persecution.
